ComForth in your Community: more than
just work We are a 'Community Interest Company', which means a lot of things are entirely different from conventional limited or listed companies. Most importantly, we have the community at heart. Many companies might claim the same, to be good neighbours, but it goes much further at ComForth. We are based in rural and/or remote areas, bringing excellent employment to areas that lack opportunities for highly skilled employees. Our offices are small and plentiful, our work often home-based too, so we can include almost everyone - on part time or full time basis, and at rates of pay that exceed most other options. We breathe new life into ageing communities, by investing most of our resources into projects that have a direct impact. As a CIC, you can be sure that all profit is dedicated to the company's business or the community, rather than director's bonuses. Our first base is in Selkirkshire, in southern Scotland. Many people here live just too far to commute to Edinburgh, and have limited employment opportunities in the Border towns. There are no motor ways or railway links and few tourists visit, making the economies fragile through focusing on just a few strengths. A local call centre will put extra muscle on existing industries, diversify employment opportunities, and bring down unemployment rates. |
